I'm one view away from 100 views - how exciting, and how sad! :P I quite enjoy having my own chunk of the internet world to myself. I don't have to talk about anything important at all.
I just got a scholarship to a program that will certify me as a Postpartum Doula. I am extremely excited to take this on! Birth, pregnancy and babies are obviously a huge passion of mine, and this course will give me the opportunity to turn that passion into a job. I will be back late to explain more about being a Doula when I get started with my classes, that way I can relay some of what I'm learning to you ("you" being my imaginary audience... hehe).
Just wanted to share how excited I am! :)
I followed your link from AllDoulas.com...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the ppd scholarship! Where to? I'm working on my reading list right now. I think I'm going to get my birth doula cert from DONA and then go for my postpartem doula cert. I'd love to hear how this goes for you!
Hi Julia-Rose, thank you so much for stopping by! :D
DeleteI was initially planning on going with DONA because they were the only organization that I knew of! When I started digging a little deeper, I found a bunch of other certifying organizations and I chose Birth Arts International because they offered scholarships and offer a lot of information on holistic therapies. I got the scholarship and am planning to send in my membership by this weekend! I will be doing it through distance learning (well, online learning!) so it works out perfectly for me! I do hope to attend a workshop in the future, and I really want to get all of the certifications under my belt eventually! One step at a time, right? :)
wow! congratulations to you! : )
ReplyDeleteThank you!
